When Ajith Paid For a Hotel Waiter’s Eye Surgery, Reveals Director Jyothi Krisna


Taara Taara song from Pawan Kalyan’s upcoming film Hari Hara Veera Mallu was launched in Chennai on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the film’s director Jyothi Krisna shared that it was superstar Ajith who suggested that he take a break from direction and take up production. The director’s remarks sparked a lot of curiosity among the fans and film buffs. Revealing more on the subject, Jyothi Krisna spoke to Filmfare.

Ajith gave 3 films to Jyothi Krisna

Until 2012, Jyothi Krisna, directed three films (Enakku 20 Unakku 18, Ooh La La La and Kedi). It was around this time, the director met Ajith. The superstar saw Jyothi’s potential as an Executive Producer (EP) in one of his earlier films. “At that time, my father (producer AM Ratnam) and I were wondering about getting dates of actors, it was then Ajith sir suggested that I take a break from direction and work on production. He wanted to see me as a top producer like my father. I was so touched and became emotional that such a big superstar like Ajith sir was thinking about me and my family.  He also said that he will do films continuously and gave us three films Arrambam, Yennai Arindhaal and Vedalam,” reveals Jyothi Krisna. However, Jyothi couldn’t resist the direction bug – he directed a Telugu film Oxygen in 2017. “Ajith sir said that direction may be my passion but I am good at production.”

Ajith helped a hotel server with eye surgery

Ajith was shooting for the film Yennai Arindhaal in Hyderabad. The film was directed by Jyothi Krisna. One day, when they were dining at a hotel, Ajith saw the waiter suffering from vision problems, wearing high-power glasses. “After Ajith sir went back to Chennai, he called on the serving professional and arranged for his eye-surgery. He also paid two months’ salary for the waiter so that he could take rest and resume work,” reveals Jyothi, describing Ajith as not only a superstar but also a humble human being and a man with a great heart. “Ajith sir helped many needy, yet he remains rooted and grounded.”
