They’re pulling from a playbook hundreds of years outdated
Practically 1,700 years in the past a Christian mob in Alexandria, Egypt — stirred into non secular frenzy by Theophilus, the Bishop of Alexandria— sacked and destroyed the immense Temple of Serapis. Tens of hundreds of books, which have been the remnants of Alexandria’s well-known library, to not point out priceless artifacts of Greco-Egyptian historical past, have been gleefully destroyed.
