Ai Weiwei Title ‘Animality’ Set For CPH:DOX — Full Lineup
Animality, the newest display screen work from Chinese language artist Ai Weiwei, is among the many titles that may world premiere at this 12 months’s CPH:DOX in Copenhagen.
The pageant, which runs March 19-30, launched its 2025 competitors lineups this morning. Throughout its six classes, the pageant will function 94 world premieres. The theme of this 12 months’s pageant is “human rights and the rules-based worldwide order.”
World premieres embody movies about Israel and Palestine, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the rise of the far-right throughout Europe, identification politics, artwork, and activism. Excessive-profile guests set for the pageant embody Ai Weiwei, Ukrainian feminist activist Inna Shevchenko, investigative journalist and whistleblower Christo Grozev, musician Warren Ellis, comic Jerrod Carmichael, and Adam Kinzinger.
Foremost competitors titles embody Alisa Kovalenko’s My Pricey Theo, Thomas Balmés’ À demain sur la Lune, Artur Franck’s The Helsinki Impact, and this 12 months’s opening movie Dealing with Struggle by Tommy Gulliksen.
World premieres out of competitors embody the model new movie by Weiwei’s Animality, Ian Cheney’s Observer, Misplaced for Phrases by Hannah Papacek Harper, Everest Darkish by Jereme Watt, and Azza by Stefanie Brockhaus.
